WIZARD COUNCIL ENACTS NEW MEASURES ON POTIONS AND ARCANE BOTANICALS

Cleveland, April 1 1920 — The Wizard Council has enacted a series of new regulatory measures governing the sale and distribution of potions and enchanted botanicals, prompting considerable discussion among practitioners and merchants alike.
Under the new provisions, all licensed alchemists and herbalists must register their inventories and submit to periodic inspection. Additional levies have been placed upon the trade of rare ingredients, particularly those deemed capable of producing heightened magical effects.
Council representatives state that the measures are intended to ensure public safety and prevent misuse of volatile substances. However, critics contend that the regulations have been introduced with insufficient explanation and impose undue burden upon small practitioners.
In Cleveland, several guild members have already voiced their opposition, with some refusing compliance pending further clarification. Notices circulated this morning indicate that enforcement will begin immediately.
As tensions rise, many await a more detailed accounting from the Council, whose silence on several key provisions has done little to quiet growing concern.
