DEBATE OVER LEAGUE OF NATIONS CONTINUES TO DIVIDE OPINION

WASHINGTON, April 1 — Debate surrounding the proposed League of Nations remains a central question in national affairs, with statesmen divided over the extent to which the United States should commit itself to international obligations.

Supporters argue that participation would ensure lasting peace following the Great War, while opponents caution against entanglements that may compromise American sovereignty. The matter has stirred considerable discussion in both chambers and among the public at large.

Reports indicate that efforts toward compromise have thus far met with limited success. As the issue persists, it is evident that the nation stands at a crossroads in determining its role in world governance.

Observers note that the outcome may shape American policy for years to come.
